Corn Poppy,Field Poppy,Flanders Poppy, Corn Rose,Flores Rhoeados,Headache,Common Red Poppy, Other Field Poppies: P.Dubium L.,P. hybridum,P.Argemone.
A traditional use of the red petals for dye has been made since the 15th c.P.Dubium L. is used medicinally as is, P.rhoea :

It is a cultivar in Flanders and in germany.

Foliage was once used as a vegetable, and the syrup prepared from the petals was used in soups and hot cereals.

Its' principal constituent is its red colouring matter, of the fresh petals:Rhoeadic and papaveric acids.

rhoearubine

mildly narcotic, some controversy over possible morphine content.
Sedative
anti-spasmodic
diaphoretic
for colic

tonsillitis
bronchitis
irritable coughs

colour in:

medicine and wine
culinary oil for cooking.
